Higher GPS accuracy:

So another Sat is needed to achieve this accuracy. Yet I can buy a "survey grade" gps and have the same thing. So can someone explain to me why this even matters? Wouldn't it be better to simply mass produce survey grade GPS collection devices?

I understand that the algorithms for the L2 signal decoding are patented. Survey grade GPS units have paid the licencing fee. Mass production of the chip isnt the holdback... it is the free access to the satellite signal.
