dharmaraft writes “I am involved with bringing GIS and Remote Sensing lessons to bright students at schools in my home state. Currently students must commute to one of the University Campuses in order to work with the software. I would love to be able to develop modules that teachers could use in the computer labs at their school, but commercial GIS offerings are just to expensive. Free data is not to difficult to come by as long one is happy with state-wide DEMs, LANDSAT and AVHRR etc. I am hoping that the SlashGISRS community might have some recommendations not just for software packages, but good tutorials or educational lessons for those software packages?”
